Where I've been

Howdy early birds! Guess who’s back?

Estimated read time: Less than 1 minute

So, I bet I know what you folks are thinking, “Robin, everyone is interested in tech right now. This is like prime-time for you. Where have you been?”.

Where I’ve been: I’ve been focusing on myself, teaching myself machine learning as someone who only has experience with Scratch and a 30-minute Python tutorial, pouring through books and doing what college freshmen do; learn how to balance priorities and develop themselves.

Why it matters: I did not feel comfortable covering AI without being an amateur engineer myself as I would be nothing more than a paraphraser of press releases without any engineering background, which is an okay thing to do, but I believe you folks deserve great things, not just okay things.

What you can expect: 3 articles a week being released on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and threads on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Why now: In Buddhist philosophy, people are often compared to a river where they are always in the act of becoming. I thought I needed to be a real big shot, an executive, or engineer to have something meaningful to say or else nobody would take me seriously. I don’t need to be perfect, but I have to always be adapting, following my nose, following my intuition, and trying out new directions. I now know that it is okay to not have experience as long when you’re young as long as you’re always learning and finding a way to bring something to the table.

The bottom line: I’m back and you should expect great things.
